We'd like to remind readers that the responses to queries are usually best posted to the individual asking the question. That individual is then strongly encouraged to post a summary to the list. This policy was
instituted to help control the huge volume of mail on LINGUIST; so we would appreciate your cooperating with it whenever it seems appropriate.
In addition to posting a summary, we'd like to remind people that it is usually a good idea to personally thank those individuals who have taken the trouble to respond to the query.

Subject: standard formant values for study on accents
hi everybody,
i am working on a final thesis paper which investigates the foreign accent
of twenty 18 year old swiss german speakers when speaking english. i am
currently using PRAAT to analyze formant values. in order to find out the
acccent i need to compare my data of the vowels & consonants of these 20
subjects with formant values of a standard american englisch and/or RP
english. does anyone know how i can obtain these values and if they
actually exist?
thanks for you help & best regards from switzerland,
adrian leemann
