From: Naomi Fox <fox

Subject: LINGUIST Holiday Schedule
LINGUIST will be on holiday status from Thursday, 23 December to
Monday, 10 January. During that time there will be no issues posted and
although the website will be available some pages will not be updated
during that time. Any message submitted to our web form
(
http://linguistlist.org/posttolinguist.html) by midnight on Dec. 22 will
be posted before the break. Except for emergencies, any messages we receive
after this will not be posted until after we return on 10 January 2005.
Anyone wishing to post an emergency message please put 'URGENT' in the
subject line and send it to a moderator, as the LINGUIST account will not
be properly monitored during the vacation period.
LINGUIST will be holding office hours at the annual LSA meeting in
Oakland. We hope you will take the opportunity to stop by and visit us
during our office hours or any of our E-MELD events below. We look
forward to seeing you there.
Our office hours:
Friday, 7 Jan 11:00-12:00
Saturday, 8 Jan 9:00-10:00
E-MELD will be presenting a poster at the Poster Session: Challenges and
Issues in Endangered Language Fieldwork on Friday, 7 Jan 2:00-5:00.
E-MELD will be represented at the OLAC Archiving Tutorial on Thursday, 6
Jan 2:00-6:00 and the OLAC outreach booth in the publishers' exhibit room
throughout the weekend.
Finally, we at LINGUIST would like to wish you a pleasant holiday season
and a successful new year. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve the
linguistic community and thank you for your continuous interest and support.
Sincerely,
Helen, Anthony, and the entire LINGUIST crew.
