Meeting Description:

On Wednesday April 26th, the contrastive grammar research group at Ghent University (Contragram) organises a half-day workshop on 'Contrastive Verb Valency', on the occasion of the completion of a six-year project on verb valency in Dutch, French, and English.

14.00: Presentation of the electronic Contrastive Verb Valency Dictionary of Dutch, French, and English by the Contragram team

14.50: Christopher Butler (Univ. of Wales Swansea), 'Structural-functional approaches to the semantics and syntax of a lexeme'

16.00: Coffee break

16.30: Klaus Fischer (London Metropolitan Univ.), 'Analytic and descriptive issues in contrasting verb complementation'
