Subject: Orthography Research Questionnaire

I am currently embarking on a Ph.D. thesis in linguistics at UniversityCollege, London. My subject is ''Alphabet Adaptation'' - the adaptation ofthe Roman and Cyrillic alphabets to established written languages in thepast, and the creation of orthographies for previously unwritten languagesin the present. I'm keen to make contact with field-workers and linguistswho have experience of, or are currently working on, devising suchorthographies (even if they are not Roman-based). I have devised a detailedquestionnaire on the problems and considerations involved in orthographycreation, and I would like to send it to any linguist who would like toparticipate. All responses will be gratefully acknowledged, of course.
