The Department of Language and Linguistic Science at the University of Yorkannounces a new online archive for work in Sociolinguistics, LanguageVariationand Change and Linguistic Anthropology called SociolinguisticsArchive:
Like other online archives in Linguistics such as LingBuzz, SemanticsArchive and Rutgers Optimality Archive, Sociolinguistics Archive isintended as a medium for circulating papers in a given subdiscipline, inthis case Sociolinguistics.
Copyright of material uploaded to Sociolinguistics Archive isretained by the existing owner, so uploaded papers may later besubmitted to Journals and other publishers. For copyright reasons,the version of a paper uploaded to Sociolinguistics Archive shouldnot be identical to a published version, however pre-publicationdrafts are fine. It is the responsibility of users uploading papersto ensure that doing so does not infringe on any copyrights.
