Greetings Linguists!

The July 2006 'Canadian Edition' of Speculative Grammarian--the premierscholarly journal featuring research in the neglected field of satiricallinguistics--is now available online for your browsing pleasure.

http://SpecGram.com/CLI.3/

(We are releasing this issue a bit early to make sure it is out in time forCanada Day--July 1st!)

Included in this issue--breaking news on the coming aphasic flu; researchinspired by recent evidence of dolphin language; a new LingDoku puzzle; andyour next dose of both Metalleus and Claude Searsplainpockets; along withthe usual high-quality articles, letters from our readers, and more...

Next time (August 2006), we will continue reproducing the classic satiricallinguistics anthology Lingua Pranca.

Enjoy!

A note to mention that I have now agreed to give the Child Language Surveymaterials, whose availability I advertised on the Linguist List in a recentposting, to the Lancaster University corpus linguistics group. With theirlong corpus experience and links to schoolteaching and language-skillstraining I believe this is an ideal home for the resource; I am sorry todisappoint others who have been in touch. (I shall be writing to themseparately.)
