Dear linguists,

I'd like to compare digital speech samples collected from differentsources, including online radio and samples digitized by myself fromanalogical sources. I'm specially interested in fundamental frequency andformant position, as well as time-related aspects of segments (specificallyVOT and vowel duration). My questions are the following:

What features of the speech signal (and in what ways) may be affected bythe format of speech samples (MP3, VAV, stream audio...)? Are the resultsof spectrographic analysis of samples with different file formats andqualities comparable? Is there any relevant bibliography available on thisissue? Thanks a lot in advance. I'll post a summary.
