Description:

The linguistics sections of the Department of German and the Department of Romance Philology at the University of Freiburg/Germany invite applications for a joint position in computational linguistics for 12 months (prolongation up to 24 months possible). The main responsibility of the position will be to programme additional components for an existing data base system (socioDB, formerly prosoDB) for German and French acoustic data. In addition, you will be required to teach one course per semester (2 hours) in linguistics and to collaborate in the application for a new research project on world French. In addition to a degree in (computational) linguistics you will need good programming skills in PHP, MySQL, HTML, JAVA and should have some background in server administration.
