Description: Post-doctoral Research Fellow - "A flexible theory of topic and focus movement"

Applications are invited for the position of post-doctoral Research Fellow on the AHRC-funded project 'A flexible theory of topic and focus movement' (further details at http://www.phon.ucl.ac.uk/home/ad/4.html). Based in the Department of Phonetics and Linguistics at University College London, you will carry out research on the syntactic, prosodic and interpretational properties of topic and focus movements in a variety of languages. You will contribute to all aspects of the project, including data collection, linguistic analysis and dissemination of the results.

Requirements: Applicants will hold a doctorate in a relevant area of linguistics. It is essential that the applicants have a good understanding of linguistic theory and the methodology of linguistic research, particularly in syntax. It is preferable that the applicants have expertise in languages which is not currently available to the project (i.e. in languages other than Dutch, Hungarian and Japanese).

Other Details: The Post-Doctoral Research Fellow is available for approx. 24 months, with a starting date as soon as possible after appointment. The appointment will be made on UCL's grade 7: £25,633 - £28,849 plus £2,472 London Allowance, dependent on experience.
