Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University seeks to hire a Computational Linguist at either the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) or Associate Professor (tenured) level. We are seeking applicants whose research combines expertise in Computational Linguistics with work on issues within one or more other areas of Linguistics (phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, discourse, language acquisition, language variation and change, psycholinguistics or neurolinguistics.) The successful candidate will be able to: teach students with a broad range of interests; provide leadership for a professional Master's Degree program with a strong record of placing graduates in industry and government; mentor a small group of Ph.D. students; and maintain and develop relations with academic, corporate and government researchers in the Washington, D.C. area. Ph.D. must be in hand by August 2007.
