Description:
The Faculty of Modern Languages and Literature (Department of English and American Studies) welcomes applications for a full-time position in English Linguistics at the level of full professor (W3). The ideal candidate will be a specialist in grammatical and functional description of English and its varieties from both a synchronic and diachronic perspective.
S/he will have a strong research record and documented teaching experience in a wide range of areas in English Linguistics.
The candidate will be expected to teach courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels and will also be involved in teacher training. Experience in and novel ideas regarding the teaching of linguistic topics in school would be an asset. A significant contribution to administration and to the development of new academic programs will also be expected.
The position is subject to the requirements stipulated in paragraphs 70(6) and 71 of the "Hessisches Hochschulgesetz". In particular, the candidate should have completed his/her habilitation or be able to demonstrate an equivalent qualification.
