Subject: Textbooks for Empirical Research Writing
I am looking for textbook recommendations for a graduate course inEmpirical Research Writing. Our department has newly instituted this courseas part of the requirements for our MA TESOL students who are taking anon-thesis option.
The goal of the course is to have students be able to understand and usethe writing conventions of the field (Applied Linguistics) for empiricalpapers. They will be asked to analyze data and then write up a short paperthat conforms to the expected structure of research articles in the field.
The focus of course will be on the discourse of the field and on WRITING.
Any recommendations for books and/or articles that we could use would begreatly appreciated.
