Language Planning (LP) for naming, an aspect of corpus planning, covers a broad spectrum from laws affecting personal names, to government regulations on toponyms, to international standards in scientific nomenclature, to standardised naming practices by organisations and groups. This issue of Current Issues in Language Planning (CILP) will focus on both broad policy issues in polities and organisations and on specific instances of LP in relation to naming. Papers of up to 8,000 words are invited, though short focused papers would also be appropriate. Abstracts of about 300 words should be sent to Pauline.Bryantanu.edu.au by 30 November 2006, and final papers by 28 February 2007. Information on Current Issues in Language Planning, including guidelines for authors, is at www.cilp.net.
