Description:
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at The University of Texas at San Antonio invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position in French and Spanish starting Fall 2007 or later (by agreement).
Responsibilities: Teaching a variety of courses in the French and Spanish programs, leadership in development of the French program, coordination of language instruction in French and Spanish.
Required qualifications - Assistant Professor: Academic training in French and Spanish at the graduate level, university or college teaching experience in both languages, native or near-native ability in French and/or Spanish. Ph.D. in French, Spanish, or related field. Research record or demonstrated research potential commensurate with experience.
Required qualifications - Associate Professor: Academic training in French and Spanish at the graduate level, university or college teaching experience in both languages, native or near-native ability in French and/or Spanish. Ph.D. in French, Spanish, or related field. Research record commensurate with experience. Tenure will be granted to the associate professor candidate on the basis of appropriate record of research, teaching, and service experience.
Preferred qualifications - Assistant and Associate Professor: Specialization in linguistics, experience with Spanish for Heritage Speakers, experience with technology enhanced language learning.
