Meeting Description:

We are pleased to announce the Student Session of the 19th EuropeanSummer School in Logic, Language and Information, which will be heldin Dublin, Ireland on August 6-17, 2007. We invite submission of papersin the areas of Logic, Language and Computation for presentation atthe Student Session and for appearance in the proceedings.

Student Session exists to bring together young researchers to presentand discuss their work in progress with a possibility to get feedbackfrom senior researchers.

Submission:

Only original publications are accepted, previous published works arenot allowed. All authors of the paper must be students: undergraduate(before the completion of the Masters degree) or graduate (before thecompletion of the PhD degree). Papers can be submitted either for oral(20min talk+10 min discussion), or poster presentation. There arethree subject areas: Logic and Language (lola), Language andComputation (laco) and Logic and Computation (loco).

Meeting Description:

The Birkbeck College Applied Linguistics Society (BCALS) is pleased to host the Bloomsbury Student Conference in Applied Linguistics, the first of its kind in London.

Junior Researchers, including current M.A., M.Phil. and Ph.D. students, as well as recent Post-Docs, are invited to submit abstracts to present at the 1st Bloomsbury Student Conference in Applied Linguistics, hosted by Birkbeck College, the University of London, UK. We welcome all presentations within thedisciplines of applied linguistics, related to:

Bilingualism, Language Acquisition (L1, L2, L3+), Cross-Linguistic InfluenceSociolinguisticsNeurolinguistics and PsycholinguisticsSyntax, Semantics, Pragmatics, Morphology, Phonetics and Phonology

Presentations will be 20 minutes in length, followed by 10 minutes of discussion and questions. Poster presentations are also welcomed.

Closing date for submission: 8th January 2007Notification of acceptance: 16th February 2007

Abstract Submission:

All presentations must be unpublished, original research, but this may include pilot studies and works in progress. Abstracts should be a maximum of 300 words, and include details of the topic, method and results or subject of discussion. Please prepare two copies on separate pages: one containing author's name, academic affiliation and area of research, and the second anonymous. This will allow for blind peer review.

Abstracts must be submitted electronically via email (bcalsbbk.ac.uk, indicating inquiry in the subject line of the email.
