Subject: Aspect Assignment in Finite Verb+Infinitive Const.

Dear colleagues,

I am working on a comparative analysis of verbs that combine with aninfinitive in Russian, Polish and Croatian vs. Serbian, eg I decided topost a query. More in particular, I am looking into the way aspect isassigned to the infinitive (or the verb in the da-clause in case ofSerbian) in these types of constructions.

I would like to extend the scope of the analysis by looking into languageswith aspect systems that are to some extent comparable to the Slavicsystem, i.e. Greek, Georgian, Hungarian and the Baltic languages. Anyreferences, diachronic and synchronic, to aspect assignment in thecounterparts of [finite verb+infinitive] constructions in any of theselanguages are welcome.

Please respond off-line to dagmar.divjakling.su.se, I will post a summary.

Thanks so much,Dagmar Divjakhttp://perswww.kuleuven.be/~u0015217
