Appen is currently recruiting for a native Arabic speaking linguist, withgood English, who has undertaken a standard linguistics course.Alternatively, we would consider a native English speaking Linguist withdeep knowledge of Arabic linguistics. A standard linguistics coursetypically involves study of topics such as phonetics, phonology, syntax,morphology, semantics, etc. An Honours Degree or Post-Graduate Degreewould be particularly highly regarded. A second language is also useful.Some experience managing teams or projects would be an advantage. The workis exciting, with plenty of opportunity to use linguistics. We haveseveral current Arabic projects and the successful candidate would beworking with other Arabic specialists as well as specialists in otherlanguages and disciplines. Much of our work is cutting edge so thecandidate should be able to apply their linguistics to any language, beflexible, a team player and able to make the jump to the commercial world.
