John Benjamins Publishing Company is pleased to announce that InteractionStudies now offers online submission and manuscript tracking. The systemcan be accessed through the journal's website:http://www.benjamins.com/catalog/is - 'Submission' .

Interaction Studies is an international peer-reviewed journal with the aimto advance knowledge in the growing and strongly interdisciplinary area ofinteraction studies in biological and artificial systems. InteractionStudies is a successor of Evolution of Communication; while ISsignificantly broadens the original aims and scope of EoC, the editorscontinue to encourage researchers studying the origins of human languageand the evolutionary continuum of communication in general to submit highquality manuscripts.

The journal welcomes contributions that analyze social behaviour in humansand other animals as well as research into the design and synthesis ofrobotic, software, virtual and other artificial systems, includingapplications such as exploiting human-machine interactions for educationalor therapeutic purposes. Understanding social behaviour and communicationin biological and artificial systems requires knowledge of evolutionary, developmental and neurobiological aspects of social behaviour andcommunication; the embodied nature of interactions; origins andcharacteristics of social and narrative intelligence; perception, actionand communication in the context of dynamic and social environments; sociallearning, adaptation and imitation; social behaviour in human-machineinteractions; the nature of empathic understanding, behaviour and intentionreading; minimal requirements and systems exhibiting social behaviour; therole of cultural factors in shaping social behaviour and communication inbiological or artificial societies.
