Support Description: One 5 year Ph.D. Research Assistantship is available fromAugust 2010 at the Center for Applied Linguistics in the Department ofLiterature and Languages at Texas A&M University - Commerce.
The assistantship covers tuition fees for two courses per semester and a stipendof $10,000 annually. The candidate will be expected to pursue Ph.D. research inline with the research interests of the center.
The Applied Linguistics Center at Texas A&M University-Commerce is now seekingan application for graduate training in our lab. Research will begin in Fall2010 with Dr. Lucy Pickering examining multi-modal analyses of spokenconversational discourse and the generation of computer platforms that willpermit this analysis. We are looking for highly motivated candidates with an MAin a related subject. Preferred interests include:
Familiarity with the PRAAT programFamiliarity with video- and audio-recorded collection of dataInterest in discourse and prosodic analysisCompetence in French
