The Department of British & American Studies and Comparative Culture atMusashi University in Tokyo is seeking candidates for the position ofAssistant or Associate Professor in Linguistics (status dependent onexperience) to start from April, 2011. The successful candidate will beable to deliver lectures (in English and Japanese) on Introductory EnglishLinguistics or Intercultural Communication (Linguistic/SociolinguisticPerspective), will have the flexibility to teach a variety oflanguage-related classes and to supervise undergraduate dissertations, aswell as to undertake diverse administrative duties, includingresponsibility for entrance examinations and the coordination ofuniversity-wide English teaching. An advanced university degree (Ph.D.preferred) in a Linguistics-related field is a prerequisite forapplication, as is a demonstrated ability to function effectively in aJapanese workplace environment.
