NCS Language OfficerWork Schedule: Full TimeSalary: $51,630 - $94,837Location: Washington, DC metropolitan area
NCS is seeking candidates fluent in the following languages: Arabic, Dari,Korean, Pashto, Persian/Farsi and Russian. Performing a critical anddynamic function within the National Clandestine Service (NCS), theLanguage Officer applies advanced foreign language skills, experience, andexpertise to provide high-quality translation, interpretation, andlanguage-related support for a variety of NCS clandestine operations.
Minimum requirements include a bachelor's degree, native or near-nativefluency in a foreign language (Arabic, Dari, Korean, Pashto, Persian/Farsiand Russian), and a strong interest in international affairs. Candidatesmust possess sound English language writing and oral skills and goodinterpersonal and communications skills.
All applicants must successfully complete a language test, a thoroughmedical and psychological evaluation, a polygraph interview and anextensive background investigation. U.S. citizenship is a requirement. Tobe considered suitable for Agency employment, applicants must generally nothave used illegal drugs within the last twelve months. The issue of illegaldrug use prior to twelve months ago is carefully evaluated during themedical and security processing.
