The Linguistics Department of the University of Massachusetts Amherstinvites applications for a tenure-track position in phonology at theassistant professor level, starting September 1, 2011. We seek applicantswhose research interests complement those of the current faculty and whocan contribute breadth and depth to the department with respect toresearch, teaching, and advising at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Qualified applicants should have a Ph.D. in linguistics by time ofappointment. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.Teaching load 2:2.

Applicants should submit a letter of application, statement of research andteaching interests, curriculum vitae, copies of research papers, andevidence of teaching ability, and they should arrange for three letters ofreference to be sent. Materials should be sent (hard copy only) to theaddress below.
