LECTURER, Georgia Southern University, Department of Writing andLinguistics (5 positions)
Lecturers will teach courses in the department's Bachelor of Arts inWriting and Linguistics program, with a primary assignment in first-yearwriting, participate in departmental service, and engage in professionaldevelopment activities. This position requires teaching responsibility andat least a Master's degree suited to the Department of Writing andLinguistics. The position is a 9-month non-tenure track appointment, andthe salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications andexperience. Non-tenure track lecturer positions are renewable on an annualbasis.
Required Qualifications: Master's degree suited to the Department ofWriting and Linguistics by August 1, 2011; experience teaching first-yearwriting; experience teaching with technology, evidence of excellence inteaching
Preferred Qualifications: Terminal degree (PhD or MFA) suited to theDepartment of Writing and Linguistics by August 1, 2011; graduatecoursework in Rhetoric and Composition; three years of college teachingexperience; experience working with diverse student populations; experiencedeveloping or teaching online writing courses; evidence of scholarly potential
