Description:

The Department of English at the University of North Carolina Wilmingtoninvites applications for TWO tenure-track assistant professorships ofEnglish with a concentration in linguistics, beginning August 2011. A PhDin Linguistics or a closely related field and a demonstrated commitment toteaching and research are required. The strongest candidates will haveexperience in teaching and will be prepared to engage in research as wellas to contribute to departmental and university service. Responsibilitiesinclude teaching undergraduate courses addressing our department's languagerequirement and developing graduate courses on the English language and/orlinguistics. The typical teaching load for research-active faculty is threecourses per semester; course listings and descriptions can be found at thedepartment URL above. The Department of English at UNCW is committed toteaching courses in the university's core curriculum and to extendingopportunities for faculty members to develop and teach courses within theirspecialties.
