Description:

The French and Italian Department at Dartmouth College seeks a LanguageProgram Director. Five-year renewable contract as Senior Lecturer. Dutiesinvolve curriculum development and maintenance. Supervision ofcoordinators, lecturers, and undergraduate Teaching Apprentices.Qualifications should include: advanced degree in second languageacquisition, Education, French and/or Italian applied linguistics;near-native knowledge and proven experience teaching one of the languages,with proficiency in the other; commitment to innovation and excellence inforeign language pedagogy theory and methodologies. Must be an effectiveteam leader, able to work productively with all members of the departmentto integrate language, culture, and literature curriculum at all levels,including our ten yearly study programs in France and Italy. Professionalengagement within Dartmouth and beyond is expected, and development ofscholarly profile is encouraged.
