The Department of Languages, Philosophy, & Speech Communication at UtahState University invites applications for a tenure-track, AssistantProfessor in Spanish Applied Linguistics. Candidates should have aDoctorate in Spanish Applied Linguistics or a related field completed byAugust 14, 2010. Preference will be given to: Candidates with native ornear-native proficiency in Spanish and English; ability and willingness toteach all levels of linguistics; proven ability to conduct research andpublish scholarly research; ability and desire to build the program and tomentor undergraduate and graduate students; ability to offer classes inlanguage teacher education; ability to teach online courses and an interestis using service learning components in the classroom; experience withgrant writing; and ability to complement the current strengths of thedepartment.The typical teaching load is 2/2.
