Description:

Applications are invited for one two-year post-doctoral position at theNational Centre for Language Technology, School of Computing, Dublin CityUniversity.

The work will be conducted in collaboration with IBM Research laboratoriesand will be focused on the area of Natural Language Processing for RiskManagement. The project involves the automatic identification of riskfactors from text, understanding of their mutual dependence andidentification of related probabilistic information. It is part of a widerIBM project on Risk Management. The candidate will be required to work bothin DCU and in IBM campus in Dublin.

The successful candidate will have a PhD in Computer Science, preferably inthe areas of natural language processing or information retrieval. Inparticular, we are looking for candidates with a proven track record inareas such as:

- relation mining- information extraction- named entity recognition- chunking and parsing- lexical semantics

Given the application domain, basic knowledge of probability is requiredand advanced understanding of risk modeling certainly a plus.

The candidate should have a capacity for independent research and will behappy to work in a collaborative research environment.
