Assistant Professor of Theoretical LinguisticsVacancy # 935524Department of English
The Department of English at East Carolina University is seeking to fill atenure-track position at the assistant professor level, specializing intheoretical linguistics, to begin August 15, 2011.
Candidates should have expertise in theoretical linguistics and be preparedto teach in at least three of the following areas: morphology, phonetics,phonology, semantics, and syntax. Secondary interest in at least one areaof applied linguistics and/or sociolinguistics a plus. The successfulcandidate is expected to support and contribute to teaching, research, andinnovative curriculum development in graduate and undergraduate programs.Appropriate service to the university, community, and profession isexpected. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate from an appropriately accreditedinstitution and record of scholarship required. Will consider other titlesbased on degree and qualifications.
