The Department of Linguistics of the College of Letters, Arts and Sciencesat the University of Southern California invites applications for atenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of experimental and/ortheoretical phonology, to begin August 2011. Duties include activeresearch, graduate supervision, normal committee service, and classroomteaching at all levels, including general education courses, courses forundergraduate majors, and graduate seminars. The standard teaching load istwo courses per semester.
The candidate must have completed all of the requirements for a Ph.D. inLinguistics or related field with a specialization in experimental and/ortheoretical phonology by 1 August 2011. Candidates are requested to submita cover letter, curriculum vitae, statement of experience and interestsboth for research and for teaching, sample papers and publications, and, ifavailable, teaching evaluations. Applicants should also arrange for threeletters of recommendation to be sent from individuals who are familiar withtheir work.
