Description:
The Department of Language and Literacy Education at the University ofGeorgia seeks a Lecturer specializing in second/foreign/heritage languageeducation in K-12 school settings. The position begins in August 2011.
Qualifications:A doctorate in foreign language education, TESOL, bilingual education,applied linguistics, or related field by July 2011 is required. Potentialfor obtaining external funding is desirable. Candidates must have K-12experience, interest in school-community partnerships, and demonstratedproficiency in a language other than English. Strong candidates will haveexpertise in one or more of the following areas: assessment; teachingmethods in early second/foreign/heritage language education; instructinglinguistically and culturally diverse learners; curriculum development.
Responsibilities:Duties include coordinating a certification program, teaching undergraduateand graduate courses, advising graduate students, collaborating in thedevelopment of innovative coordinated ESL/FL certification program.Information about the department is available at the URL above.
