Description:

The College of Liberal Arts of National Taiwan University invites applications
for one to two faculty positions for their new Master's degree program in
Teaching Chinese as a Second Language, at the level of assistant professor or
higher. The initial appointment will begin on August 1, 2011. The application
deadline is February 18, 2010.

General requirements:
Applicants must hold a PhD in a related field, preferably in one of the
following areas: Chinese Syntax, Chinese phonology, Chinese lexical semantics,
Chinese language pedagogy and teaching resources, pedagogy in CSL reading and
Writing skills, Chinese language testing and assessment, or CSL-related area.
Responsibilities will include teaching, research, and related administrative
work.

The application package should include:
(1) Two copies of cv (must include the applicant's phone number and e-mail
address).
(2) A list of selected research (two copies)
(3) Two copies of Ph.D. diploma. Persons applying for the position of
assistant professor must also include 2-years of grade transcripts from their
Ph.D. program in duplicate.
(4) Evidence of work experience (if any)
(5) Seven copies of each representative publication in English or Chinese
from
the past three years (August 1, 2008 or later; each Chinese work must be
accompanied by a 500-word abstract. Each English work must include a 5000-word
summary).
(6) Seven copies of each reference works from the past five years (August 2006
or later).
(7) Planned future teaching and research projects (the description of each
course or future research idea generally should not exceed two sheets of A4
sheets).
(8) Outline of courses taught (generally should not exceed two sheets of A4
sheets).
(9) Two letters of recommendation.

Application Deadline and General Information:
Appointment begins on August 1, 2011. By Feb. 18, 2011, interested applicants

screening.

Successful candidates will be asked to provide a substantial dossier and other
credentials for further evaluation. Short-listed candidates will be
interviewed in Taipei.
