Description:

The Communication, Culture & Technology (CCT) M.A. program at GeorgetownUniversity focuses on the relationship between new computationaltechnologies of communication and areas such as science, scholarship,culture, government, media, business, journalism and the arts. The programseeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor working on therelationship between language and technologies of communication andassociated political issues. Candidates whose research emphasizestechnology, internet linguistics, language and politics, interculturalcommunication, or language and sex/gender, race, class or national identitywill be given priority. They should be current in the history, theory, andmethodologies of their field. Applicants who demonstrate classroomexperience using new media/digital teaching approaches, such asstudent-developed websites, blogs, digital stories, documentary film, anddigital portfolios, are especially encouraged to apply. The successfulcandidate will have scholarly publications and teaching experience at thegraduate level (or comparable), and be prepared to advise and to mentorM.A. thesis projects. Faculty are expected to contribute broadly to theinterdisciplinary research and teaching of the program.
