The Collaborative Research Center 'Constitution of Meaning' at theUniversity of Tuebingen, Germany, has an opening for a research position(50% of full-time appointment, Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L/2) in ComputationalLinguistics.
The successful candidate must have demonstrable experience in one or moreof the following areas:- lexical acquisition / computational lexicography- discourse structure / discourse relations
Some programming experience (in Python, Java, Perl or C++) and (near)native-level command of German, as well good communication skills inEnglish are required.
Experience in one of the following areas is considered a plus:- use of supervised machine learning in NLP (e.g. coreference, SRL, WSD orsimilar applications)- unsupervised learning / clustering (e.g., SVD, LDA, k-means)
The Seminar für Sprachwissenschaft (SfS) and the Collaborative ResearchCenter (SFB 833) offer a stimulating interdisciplinary research environmentwith the opportunity of completing a Ph.D. degree.
The initial period of appointment for this position is until June 30, 2013.Subject to renewal of the project, the appointment can be extended to aperiod of maximally five years.
