Grade 7: Salary in the range of £28,983 - £30,747 p.a.
A two-year research and teaching appointment in Indo-Iranian Philology fromOctober 2010 for an outstanding academic at an early stage of his or hercareer. This post is a joint appointment between the Faculty of OrientalStudies and the Faculty of Linguistics, Philology and Phonetics. Thepostholder will be a Research Fellow of Wolfson College, and it isenvisaged that the postholder will undertake teaching for both faculties.
The fellowship is funded jointly by the Jill Hart Trust for Indo-IranianPhilology and by Wolfson College, Oxford. The object of the Jill Hart Trustis to support elementary language teaching and learning, and philologicalteaching and study, of Vedic Sanskrit and of the languages belonging to theIranian branch of Indo-European at their earliest attested stages; and tosupport the study of the early linguistic history and prehistory of theIndo-Iranian language family. The post is open to applicants carrying outresearch in any area of Indo-Iranian philology coming under these terms.Applicants must have obtained a doctorate by 1 October 2010, and should notnormally have completed it earlier than 1 October 2003. Applications fromcandidates who have completed a doctorate earlier than 1 October 2003 willbe considered if they have had a career change or break.
