PhD Studentship in Cognitive LinguisticsThe Department of Humanities at Northumbria University invites applications fora four-year fully funded PhD studentship supported jointly by the University andMouton de Gruyter, the publisher of the journal Cognitive Linguistics. We areseeking an exceptional post-graduate scholar who will be able to combineoriginal doctoral level research and work placement on the journal. Thesuccessful candidate will receive a full fee waiver (home and EU students only)and an annual stipend of £15,047. He/She will also have the opportunity toparticipate in the Department's teaching preparation programme and obtainteaching experience.
The PhD project will involve an empirical investigation of some aspect ofspeakers' lexical or grammatical knowledge from a cognitive perspective usingeither corpus or experimental methods, or a combination of both.
