Meeting Description:
The lexicon plays a central role in many areas of basic and applied sciences,from psychology and cognitive science to applied linguistics. Understanding thestructure, composition and use of the lexicon holds important keys tounderstanding many research fields and a wide range of human activities.
Approaches to the Lexicon is an international symposium on the lexicon. Upwardsof fifty leading researchers in four different areas have been invited toaddress, discuss and develop some of the most topical research questions inorder to advance the state of the art within the field of lexicon research. Thesymposium is organized into four tracks bound together by cross-disciplinarypapers:- Lexical semantics- Word-formation- Terminology and ontologies- Second-language lexical acquisition.
The last day of the symposium is devoted to a workshop in which a paneladdresses topics in the interfaces between the four areas.
All papers given are by invited speakers.
The conference is organized by the Department of International Language Studiesand Computational Linguistics at Copenhagen Business School and the Center forInternationalisation and Parallel Language Use at the University of Copenhagen.The venue is Copenhagen Business School, Dalgas Have 15, 2000 Frederiksberg,Denmark.
Participation
We very much encourage all interested researchers and PhD students toparticipate actively as audience in the symposium. Since only a limited numberof places are available, registration to attend will be on a first-come-first-served basis.
