Meeting Description:
We are pleased to announce an international symposium on information andmeta-informative centering in natural languages to be held at Paris-SorbonneUniversity on Nov. 18-19, 2010. The Meta-Informative Centering Theory (MIC)is currently developed at CELTA (Centre de Linguistique Theorique etAppliquee).
The symposium is intended to focus on preference and efficiency indiscourse, and to continue discussion on crucial issues of the MIC theory inconnection with research on pragmatics including the Socio-CognitiveApproach (SCA) to pragmatics developed at the State University of New Yorkat Albany.
