Assistant Professor in Linguistics (Ref.: 20110422)

Applications are invited for tenure track appointment as AssistantProfessor in Linguistics in the department of Linguistics, School ofHumanities, from July 1, 2012. The position is first offered on athree-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and withconsideration for tenure during the second fixed-term contract.

Applicants should have specialization in one or more of the following areas:- Language documentation and description (inclusive of phonetics/ phonology)- Evolution of language (and Biolinguistics)- Historical linguistics

The successful candidate is expected to interact with the research andteaching of the department including teaching on general education modulesin linguistics. Demonstrated teaching experience and a strong researchprofile are essential.
