The School of BCSS is seeking to appoint a senior academic in theLinguistics discipline. The person must have a strong research profile and beable to teach a range of units in the general and applied linguistics program,in areas that complement existing staff strengths.

Applicants must have a PhD in linguistics or applied linguistics, a strongrecord of publications and successful grant applications, demonstratedsuccessful teaching record at undergraduate and graduate levels, and high-level administrative, communication and interpersonal skills. Researchexpertise in one or more of the following areas would be an advantage:language typology, sociolinguistics, language and culture studies,applications of linguistics.

Armidale is a unique country town located on the New England Tablelands. Itis surrounded by world heritage national parks, and is only 2 hours from themid north coast. Offering all the facilities of a city, Armidale is well served forart, music, theatre and school education.
