The Department of Linguistics at Georgetown University is pleased toannounce one of two tenure-track positions in Sociolinguistics at theAssistant Professor level. We seek candidates who have a strong record ofresearch and teaching, and ability to teach courses at the undergraduateand graduate levels, in any combination of subfields including but notlimited to: analysis of videotaped interaction; computer mediatedcommunication; language and gender, space, politics, religion or identity;intercultural communication; classroom interaction; ormacrosociolinguistics (including language policy and planning, bi- andmultilingualism, and language endangerment). The appointment will start onAugust 1, 2012. Applicants must have completed all requirements for the PhDdegree by the time of the appointment.
