Description:
The Department of Spanish and Portuguese in the Division of World Languages,Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Iowa is searching for a tenure-trackAssistant Professor in Hispanic linguistics with specialization in secondlanguage acquisition and phonology. Candidate must have a Ph.D. in HispanicLinguistics or in Linguistics in hand by August 2012. The successful candidatemust show evidence of an active research program in phonological acquisitionof Spanish as a second language, and must be able to contribute to generalofferings in the area of Hispanic linguistics, as well as advanced undergraduateand/or graduate courses in Spanish phonology and in formal linguistic orpsycholinguistic approaches to acquisition. Native or nearnative fluency inSpanish is required. Undergraduate courses are taught in Spanish.
