Description:
The Cognitive Science Program at Indiana University in Bloomington isseeking to fill a postdoc position in the area of text mining and knowledgediscovery, with particular focus on topic discovery in large text corpora.Salary is consistent with current NIH guidelines, ranging from $38,496 to$53,112 plus a modest travel allowance. The position is available for up tofour years, beginning on or after September 1, 2012.
The position will be held under the supervision of Dr. Michael Jones in the IUCognitive Computing Laboratory (
http://www.indiana.edu/~clcl/). The postdocwill be part of a large multisite project exploring automatic discovery andextraction of semantic topics from large databases of scientific articles. Theideal candidate will have a strong background in computational techniques forlarge-scale text mining and topic modeling including, but not limited to, LDA-based topic models, NLP techniques, machine learning, and cognitivemodeling. A strong programming background is expected. Working knowledgeof the neuroimaging literature, basic neuroanatomy, and cognitiveexperiments is desirable, but not necessary. Candidates must have a PhD incomputing science, linguistics, psychology, or a related field.
