Well-established accredited language school in Washington DC with46 years of experience in providing training in ESL and foreignlanguages seeks qualified individuals to apply for a position in ahighly competitive, fast-paced environment as the Director of itsEnglish Language Division.

The Director is responsible for recruiting, training, developing andsupervising teachers who deliver proficiency-based languagetraining to adult learners in the Intensive English Program, WorkPlace, Business English and TOEFL programs, as well as in privatetutorials.

The Director manages all aspects of running ESL languageprograms, including business development activities and agentrelations. Candidates must possess professional language trainingskills in order to direct language training programs and materialsdevelopment which bring students to high levels of languageproficiency in speaking, listening, reading and writing. Candidatesmust be current in the application of technology to the languagelearning process and current best practices in the areas of distancelearning, classroom and computer-assisted instruction. The Directoroversees assessment, curriculum development and/or extensiverevisions to existing training courses, as well as monitors andevaluates students' progress in order to ensure that students aremeeting their language goals. The Director keeps in close contactwith clients and acquires new clients through the active promotion ofESL programs.

We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals with thefollowing requirements:- Masters Degree in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Teaching, ForeignLanguage Pedogogy, or related field;- Native fluency in American English;- Knowledge and skills in curriculum design, teacher training andclassroom pedagogy, and student counseling;- At least two years supervisory and/or management experience in apost-secondary ESL environment;- Sales and marketing experience, preferably in an independentlanguage school;- Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English and ina foreign language;- Experience living abroad;- Knowledge of educational and training technologies andinstructional methodologies;- Experience in teaching adult learners in an ESL classroom setting;- Knowledge of proficiency-based language training and testingformats;- Ability to work in a multicultural setting;- Strong interpersonal skills;- Strong leadership qualities.
