Description:
The Department of Linguistics at Stanford University announces a search tofill a full-time tenure-track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level,with a starting date of September 1, 2013. Applications are invited in anyarea of linguistics. Duties include teaching and advising at both the graduateand undergraduate levels and maintaining an active research program.Candidates should hold the PhD in linguistics or a related field by the startingdate.
The Department particularly values research that integrates insights fromdifferent subfields of linguistics and from other disciplines, bringing a varietyof types of evidence to bear on the development of theories of language andlanguage use. The Department gives priority to the overall originality andpromise of the candidate's research rather than the area of specializationwithin linguistics.
