I am a Master’s student at the Federal University of Santa Catarina(Brazil), and I have been carrying out research on phonetics andphonology of English under the supervision of Professor RosaneSilveira. This research is important in the sense that the findings mayguide English teachers and students choices when teaching/learningthis language. With the intent to conclude this study, I am nowcollecting data from native speakers of English from differentnationalities. Therefore, I would like to invite native speakers of Englishto participate in the data collection process of this study, which will helpteacheres and researchers from the area to better understand theacquisition of English by speakers of other languages. The results willalso form the basis of my thesis to be defended in December 2012.

In order to participate in this research, please accesswww.comprehendingl2speech.com, register as a Native Speaker ofEnglish, and follow the instructions. You should use Google Chrome toaccess the website, since it does not work properly in other browsers.Participants can contact me at any time by e-mail(thaissuzanagmail.com), or Skype (thais22suzana).

Best regards,Thaís Suzana Schadech
