The Department of Language Studies at the University of Toronto Mississaugainvites applications for a teaching stream position in Linguistics at therank of Lecturer, beginning on July 1, 2013. The Department is particularlyinterested in candidates with a demonstrated ability to teach a widevariety of Linguistics courses at the introductory and more advancedlevels. Knowledge of French, Italian or any other language taught in theDepartment would be an asset.

The successful candidate is expected to have earned a Ph.D. in Linguisticsby July 1, 2013, have an established record of excellence in, and ademonstrated commitment to teaching. The successful candidate will beexpected to undertake teaching at the undergraduate level at the Universityof Toronto Mississauga, participate in the development of undergraduatecurriculum, engage in undergraduate mentorship, as well as in coursecoordination and supervision of teaching assistants. The successfulcandidate will also be expected to contribute to the expansion of programsin Linguistics, and help foster a vibrant intellectual environment for ourundergraduate programs.

Appointment at the rank of Lecturer may be renewed annually to a maximum offive years. In the fifth year of service, Lecturers shall be reviewed and arecommendation be made with respect to promotion to the rank of SeniorLecturer. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
