Pending budgetary approval, the UC Berkeley Department of Linguistics isaccepting applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor (or Lecturer)position in Phonetics and Phonology for the 2012-13 academic year. Theappointee will teach 4-6 courses, at both the undergraduate and graduatelevels. Additional strength in morphology, corpus linguistics, neuroscienceand/or a particular language area would be considered an asset but is notnecessary.

Title and salary, commensurate with experience, will be based on establishedUC Berkeley salary scales, with benefits according to the standard UCBerkeley benefits package.

Applicants are requested to send application materials by email. Theseshould include a vita, a cover letter describing experience and interests inboth teaching and research, sample papers, and documentation of teachingrecord (including teaching evaluations). Applicants should also request threeletters of recommendation to be sent by email from individuals familiar withtheir work. Applications will be reviewed starting on March 16, 2012. Theposition will remain open until filled.
