Modern Hebrew Lecturer at Indiana University-Bloomington
The Robert A. and Sandra S. Borns Jewish Studies Program at IndianaUniversity -Bloomington invites applications for a non-tenure track,full-time position, for a Hebrew Lecturer. The Hebrew lecturer will teach 3courses of Modern Hebrew each semester, at one or more Hebrew levels, underthe supervision of the director of the Hebrew language program, andfollowing the innovative curriculum and texts in use in the languageprogram. This position will begin on August 1st, 2013. This position is fora three year initial appointment with subsequent renewal subject toperformance, funding and programmatic needs.
The successful candidate should possess fluency in Hebrew and should be ateam-player. The successful candidate should have prior teachingexperience, having taught the Hebrew language using the Hebrew-in-Hebrewapproach, under the communicative approach to language teaching. Thesuccessful candidate should be comfortable working with media andaudiovisual technology in the classroom. Some experience in developingsuccessful teaching materials for teaching Hebrew is preferred. An M.A.degree in a related field is preferred.
