Applications are invited for a full-time postdoctoral position in theDepartment of Linguistics at the University of Alberta(http://www.linguistics.ualberta.ca/), tenable for two years. Thepostdoctoral scholar will work with Drs. Juhani Järvikivi and Benjamin V.Tucker on projects relating to the processing of spoken language in the Centrefor Comparative Psycholinguistics (http://ccp.artsrn.ualberta.ca/). Primaryresponsibilities include active engagement in the research community,laboratory management, conducting research projects, preparing findings forpublication and oral presentation, and working with graduate and undergraduatestudents.

The applicant should demonstrate experience in experimental design, basicstatistics and acoustic analysis. Experience with eye-tracking, ERP, Praat, Rstatistical language, and advanced statistics (or some subset of these) isdesirable. An ideal applicant will have experience in experimental phoneticsand psycholinguistics. Citizenship: Open. English language proficiency isrequired.

A PhD in Linguistics or a related field is required. The stipend for thisposition will be commensurate with experience of the candidate and will followUniversity of Alberta policies. Application review will begin on December 10,2012 and will continue until the position is filled. The anticipated startdate is flexible, beginning as early as possible, but no later than April 1,2013.
