Dissertation Abstract:
The dissertation is as much a reflection of the work done at the PacificLanguage Institute (1992-2006) as it is a current table of research to the workthat was done during the years 1992 to 2006 [1 & 2]. Four research papersare examined and reseached against current literature on each subject. Thefour papers come from the archives of the Pacific Language Institute and arelisted as follows:
1. Metrical Phonology: German Sound System
2. Physical Linguistics
3. Metrical Phonology and SLA
4. The language Learing Loop: A Pronunciation System
These papers have been either presented at conferences or have beenpublished in peer-reviewed journals. Both of the metrical phonology papersand the physical linguistics paper can be found at the ERIC Clearinghouse onLanguage and Linguistics. The Language Learning Loop paper was publishedin 'TESOL Matters' in 1997.
